Dog Wellness – Pam Holt

Pam Holt of Buddha Dog Animal Massage is a Registered Veterinary Technician and a Certified Animal Massage Therapist that has been in practice since early 2003 offering Massage, Acupressure, TTouch and Reiki to the animals of Los Angeles.

As soon as Pam heard the term ‘animal massage’, she knew that was her calling. Always an animal lover, but cursed with asthma and allergies, she wasn’t permitted to live with animals while growing up (it wasn’t known back then that living with animals would have actually built up an immunity to their dander). As soon as she was on her own, she filled her home with rescued cats and then dogs and was happy to learn that she could live with them after a brief tough period while building up immunity.

Animal Activism is a focus in Pam’s life and she feels she was put on Earth to help give a voice to those that have none.

Pam’s animal massage career began with countless sessions with shelter animals and she continues to help bring shy and scared shelter animals out of their shell with massage, giving them a much better chance at adoption when they show their personalities to potential adopters.

Pam can be seen on any given weekend at puppy mill pet store protests, fur store protests or protesting the circus when they come to town. Abstaining from meat came naturally for this animal lover when she realized the suffering that the animals have to endure to end up on a plate.

Pam serves on the Advisory Board of the Ozzy Foundation, an organization that helps people pay their vet bills and she is the Secretary of the nonprofit animal rescue, Adoption 911. She is also the Volunteer Coordinator, Newsletter Editor and Secretary of the Marketing Committee for the National Board of Certification of Animal Acupressure and Massage (NBCAAM).
