BC German Shepherd Rescue Needs Help

Eight German Shepherd puppies were found alone in a field and were picked up by ‘animal control’

A week ago Tuesday GSRBC was able to pull three pups for their spay and neuters, including the only sick one at the time, that had tested negative for parvo. She was deathly sick so we wanted to find out what was wrong with her and get her help asap.
She tested negative again at our own vet, but was admitted for hospitalization and further testing was done. The other pups had their surgeries and are now spayed and neutered.
While we waited for the DNA results to come back, one of the remaining 4 puppies at the shelter got sick and tested positive for parvo – which immediately put all the pups we had pulled into quarantine.

Brago

Since then Heidi (the first girl to get sick) was rapidly going downhill, and by the end of Tuesday, we were sure, as was the vet, that she would not make it. Amazingly, she rallied in a HUGE way, and by yesterday when the DNA results came in as positive for parvo, she was already by the worst of it, and lifting her head, barking at the staff, ripping out her IV and being a cute, but basic nuisance :)
She was released today to go into foster care. She is still shedding the virus and will be quarantined, but is well on her way to overcoming this horrible disease. She is very animated and eating well!
Sadly, the other female became lethargic Thursday morning and wouldn’t eat. I took her into the vet and she has tested positive and been admitted to for care.

Both the males we have were the strongest of the litter. Jada and Brago are still testing negative and we are continuing to monitor them closely through their quarantine period. If they show no signs and are still testing negative by the 29th, they can go on with their lives :)

Jada

As it stands now, we are at a 6500.00 amount owing at the vet, and climbing… Jada’s treatment will be at least another 2 grand.

We need financial help. We do have a little bit of money currently in our account, but still need to get our next order of food to be able to feed the dogs already in our care as well now as the puppies.
