Until I found this contest, I never really thought about how to put how much my dog means to me into words; but here it goes:
I met my dog when she was 6 months old. She was owned by a older couple and she was just too much for them to handle. As soon as I pulled into their driveway this dog stole my heart.
She is an English Springer Spaniel so as you can imagine, she came bounding over to my husband and I and left footprints all over our clothes as to say I left my mark on you and now I am yours!
I paid $300.00 for her and an extra $20.00 for the cage thinking I would need it! But to my familys’ amazement, she never spent a day inside it.
When I brought Daisy to her new home, she greeted each one of my children with a nose poke and at their young ages of 5, 3, and 1 she seemed to have known not to jump on them.
Daisy May is a huge part of my family. My children are now 14, 12, and 10 and still to this day she greets them when they walk up the driveway from school and she is the 1st one that my children talk to when the come in also.
My husband always says he would love to get just a smidgen of the attention Daisy gets in a day and my response to him is if you warmed my toes every night, greeted me with a kiss every morning and was happy to see me every waking moment of the day you too would get as much attention as she does.
I know as Daisy gets older, the day will come when she doesn’t jump on us as we walk up the driveway; that is why now, we just wipe the prints off and give her a hug and all the attention she deserves!
I love my dog!
Connie
