This is how Maxie came into our lives

Maxie

One day I was sitting in my living room when a black puppy wandered in!

We had left our back door (sliding glass) open and she decided to come for a
visit! She had been digging under the fence between our neighbor’s yard and
ours! (They left her outside all day so obviously she was lonely and wanted
company.)

So she stayed the rest of the day until our neighbors came home.
That continued for another couple of weeks.. Maxie would come in, stay the
day, then I would carry her back to the neighbor’s house.

They said they were going to take her to “the pound.” I was horrified! I said no, that we would take her. Well I think our neighbors realize now what a mistake they made, but they were not able to care for her properly as they were not home most of the time.

Since I am lucky enough to be home a lot, I am now Maxie’s
“Mom” and my husband has formed a special bond with her. He is the alpha dog and Maxie knows it!

She is SO smart- she knows “go”, “garage” (she love to
help!), “truck”, and many more people words. She is just the best doggie I
have ever had- the best in the world!!
